Brooklyn can't sleep. Her boyfriend, Lucca, died only a year ago, and now her friend Gabe has just died of an overdose. Every time she closes her eyes, Gabe's ghost is there waiting for her. She has no idea what he wants or why it isn't Lucca visiting her dreams.
Nico can't stop. He's always running, trying to escape the pain of losing his brother, Lucca. But when Lucca's ghost begins leaving messages, telling Nico to help Brooklyn, emotions come crashing to the surface.
As the nightmares escalate and the messages become relentless, Nico reaches out to Brooklyn. But neither of them can admit that they're being haunted. Until they learn to let each other in, not one soul will be able to rest.
Another unexpected read which surprised me, Chasing Brooklyn is written in verse and is about two lives coming together after losing a loved one. This book is touching and a quick read for times when you want to avoid lengthy texts but be warned, although this book was short, it kept dragging me back to read it all over again. Even after finishing it, the verses kept replaying themselves...over and over and over again. This was actually pretty inspiring and I deeply felt every emotion. Those letters which Brooklyn writes were so sad and by the time I finished the book, I was pretty much restless. In sumary:
1. This book was inspirational 2. I felt every emotion 3. The verses are still stuck in my head :) 4. It was short but truly amazing and surpringly good 5. I would read it again!
